Haematology - Examination of the blood.
Heartworm - Species of parasitic worm that lives and reproduces in the heart chambers of an animal. Immature worms can circulate in the blood and get taken in by mosquitoes that bite the animal. These can infect another animal when bitten by the same mosquito.
Hernia - The protrusion of an organ through an abnormal opening in tissue.
Hyperkalemia - An increased level of potassium in the blood.
Hyperthyroidism - A condition, most commonly in cats, where the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone.
Hypothyroidism - A condition, most common in dogs, in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone - the opposite of the condition above.
Hypertrophy - Excessive growth of an organ or tissue.
