RSPCA says be prepared
for the cost of a pet
One of the most respected organisations in the UK with regard to pet ownership has spoken out advising all prospective pet owners to acquaint themselves with the full costs of owning a pet.
The RSPCA has said that too few pet owners in the UK are fully aware of the costs of owning a pet - especially with the costs associated with veterinary bills and pet care. The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), which has its own competitive pet insurance for cats and dogs, has also said that pet owners should take put pet insurance to offset potential costs associated with vet bills and emergency treatment - all of which are covered by pet insurance providing that it is purchased early enough.
Rebecca Ralph, press officer for the RSPCA, urged pet owners to "take out pet insurance as part of being a responsible pet owner" - advice which Pet Health Insurance endorses.
This advice comes in the face of figures released earlier this year from the Halifax, which also provides pet insurance, which estimated that Britons often underestimate the cost of vets' bills by up to 103%.
