Kidnapped Dog held to Ransom
Pet owners concerned about the potential for their dogs being kidnapped will be concerned after a worrying case has emerged after a report from BBC Wales. It reported the case of a miniature scnauzer being kidnapped and then held to ransom for £200. The pet, owned by Ivor and Janet Hancock from Cyon Valley, Wales was covered by BBC Wales' Week In Week Out programme.
Direct Line Pet Insurance also recently reported that 43 per cent of dog owners were concerned about their pets being kidnapped.
The company advised pet owners to inform both the police and pet insurance company in the event of theft, as the latter may provide cover for advertising and reward costs.
