Hard up Families dumping their pets
Families are dumping their pets as they struggle to cope with the economic crisis brought on by the credit crunch. Animal rescue centres have reported that more cats, dogs and rabbits are being dumped in the face of rising mortgage and food costs.
Pets also face neglect through poor nutrition and lack of veterinary care.
Most at risk are older animals with illnesses as families are struggling to afford the necessary veterinary care for their pets.
The RSPCA has said that its rescue centre at Stubbington Ark in fareham
