Cat Insurance required at Number 10
It's been reported that there is a new feline presence at Number 10 prompting calls for cat insurance to be purchased. Sybil has been announced as
the new Downing Street cat and is owned by Alistair Darling, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and his wife Margaret.
Supposedly hounded out of Downing Street by Cherie Blair, it's good to see that cats have made a comeback at the residence of the Prime Minister. Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah, who live next door at Number 11,
have no problem with cats unlike their predecessors.
The previous resident, Humphrey, was supposedly sent into premature suburban retirement
prompting rumours that he had been put down. He actually died of old age at 18 in March 2006.
