British Dogs under-exercised
It's official. British dogs are under-exercised and are becoming unfit according to a new report by Halifax Pet Insurance.
In an alarming report, it found that over 80% of British dogs are being under-exercised by their owners, as slovenly ways and a hectic working schedule have begun to take a big effect on dog exercise.
However, only 15% of dog owners in the UK thought they under-exercised their dogs and seemed to be in complete denial of the problem. 13% admitted they had no idea what amount of exercise a dog should have on a daily basis.
Vicky Watson, Products Manager, Halifax Pet Insurance, stated:
"The research reveals a general lack of education and awareness of exercise requirements of pets amongst dog owners. When choosing a dog an owner should properly research the breed to ensure that they will be able to provide it with the care and attention it needs."
